I’m an observer. I translate and organize things into a clear, creative, and compelling story or campaign. This can manifest as:
I hold a degree in Interactive Media from the Art Institute and several certifications through the School of Visual Arts in New York.
I have experience that ranges from working at small production houses to large agencies with clients that are boutique companies to Fortune 500 companies. Design is psychology… watching, listening, asking the right questions, ideating and measuring people’s reactions. That being said, I care about historical, cultural preservation, and social causes (Work Hard + Be Nice for the LOVE). I have volunteered on non-profit boards such as TED (spread ideas), and done work for historic preservation societies, and ministries/non-profits.
It is critical for a client (business) to bring their whole history to the table. Taking history, background, experience, things that make your business different while also weighing past track records and results is a great foundation to create an authentic branding strategy or campaign.Copying media you see online out of context is Xerox surface reproduction that gets even more blurry and less impactful as more copies reproduce. The results from lack in stratedgy, is seldom unique enough to stand out and be lucrative or impactful.
In 2012 I co-founded a web/ social media marketing agency “Get Em Tiger” that my talented husband David now runs. The name comes from encouraging clients to weigh their history, be uniquely them and then go GET EM TIGER.
A logo is NOT your a brand, and I don’t “just design a logo”. Design choices should be based on facts and strategy (not opinions). There is much about your business to define and learn to execute your brand components correctly. I’m interested in strategic problem-solving. Every design choice we make together will have a reason behind it – based on your branding story and can be backed up with criteria from our process together. I create branding architecture – systems and stories that outline every facet of your brand. So when your company goes to approach any media platform (web, social, content writing, even taking a photo) there is no “guesswork” in what to do. You will know in your gut. (so will your employees – they will have a nice little guide to follow). I also do franchising consultation. Contact me for branding architecture case studies.
Meta (a lot going on there).
Inventing. Music. Here’s a sweet little FUNKY playlist for you.
Travel.
I enjoy being outdoors with my husband – (we live on a nature preserve in historic
Virginia off the Rappahannock River).
I garden (heirloom vegetables, and I’m still trying to figure out how Piet Oudolf does the
magic he does).
I laugh often, especially at my dog (she is a Wire Fox Terrier – you have to have a sense
of humor to own one).
I take on one intern a year. Typically they are vetted by a friend that’s an industry professional and professor in FL.
Often. Let’s talk.
